Heckler & Koch’s has taken their venerated USP to the next level with the HK USP Tactical. Featuring everything that already made the USP great and then adding in features designed for operators in extreme tactical situations, the USP Tactical is an outstanding all around pistol for nearly every kind of shooter.
HK based the USP Tactical on the base model USP, and then turned up the fire. By adding in a threaded barrel and an added-O-ring, they increased the accuracy and gave shooters the ability to add a sound suppressor. Because of this, HK added high-rise, target-style adjustable sights. The .45ACP caliber model USP Tactical also receives a match grade trigger with an adjustable trigger stop. Finishing off the pistol is an oversized trigger guard, allowing for comfortable shooting while wearing gloves.
The reinforced polymer frame has steel inserts in areas normally considered to be weak point sin standard polymer-framed pistols. HK pioneered the use of this process 30 years ago, and continues to be an innovator to this day. The HK USP control lever, a combination safety and decocking lever, is frame mounted and quickly accessible. The Browning-type action has been modified with a patented recoil reduction system.
The modular design of the USP Tactical’s internal components allows the control lever function to be switched from the left to the right side of the pistol for left-handed shooters. The USP Tactical is available in single action/double action, or double action only.
