Heckler & Koch HK45 Compact OD Green .45 Semi Automatic Handgun
The HK45 Compact is the next-generation of compact .45ACP pistol, taken from years of development, research, and feedback from users of HK’s wildly successful USP. Improvements from the USP .45ACP include a Mil-Std 1913 Picatinny rail, and a slimmer grip profile than a standard HK45. Besides those minor changes, the HK45 Compact is identical to the HK45.
The HK45 was initially developed for inclusion in the United States military Joint Combat Pistol and Combat Pistol programs to replace the 9mm M9, but the program was halted before any pistol was selected. The result of their dedication and hardwork is one of the best handguns HK has ever produced.
The HK45 uses their outstanding cold hammer forged barrel and bore with polygonal rifling. Polygonal rifling barrels will outlast the typical “lands and grooves” rifling used in other handguns by thousands of rounds. The HK45 uses an HK proprietary O-ring barrel for precise barrel-to-slide lockup and optimal accuracy.
Using HK’s unique internal mechanical recoil reduction system reduces the recoil forces imparted to the weapon and shooter by as much as 30%, improving shooter control during rapid firing and increasing component service life. The HK45 combines the accuracy, modularity, reliability and minimum 20,000 round service life of the USP45 series with the improved ergonomics of the P2000 series pistols.
The redesigned grip on the HK45 features adjustable backstraps to fit a multitude of hand sizes for optimal fit. An improved USP-style control lever, a combination safety and decocking lever, is frame mounted on the HK45 and is quickly accessible. The HK45 control lever has a positive stop and returns to the “fire” position after decocking. The control lever can also be relocated to the right side of the pistol for left-handed shooters. An optional double-sided control lever can be added for true ambidextrous controls.
Much like the USP45, the HK45 has multiple variants in three colors. Variants include DAO triggers, DA/SA triggers, and HK’s one-of-a-kind Law Enforcement Management trigger system. Every HK45 utilizes our proprietary reinforced polymer frame for a lightweight and incredibly rugged handgun.
Extensively tested and operationally proven, the HK45 Series is a new paradigm for Heckler & Koch handgun design and is currently being assembled from U.S. and German made components at HK’s American manufacturing facility in Newington, New Hampshire.
